Echos In The Hundred Acre Woods...

Production Weekly has let it be known who will be playing the voices in the new "Winnie the Pooh" film...

Veteran actor Jim Cummings will play both the part of Pooh & Tigger, Rabbit will be voiced by Tom Kenny and Owl will have talk show host/Drew Carey alum Craig Ferguson in the part.

Hat Tip to /Film.

I expected Jim Cummings to voice Pooh and Tigger.

But what's with the others?

Shouldn't they just go with the usual voices of Rabbit? (Ken Sansom) and Owl? (Andre Stojka)

I'm kind of surprised about the voice changing too, but I did hear that this Pooh film was going to harken back to the original three short films, most likely in regards to the voicing as well. Perhaps Tom Kenny's Rabbit impersonation sounds more like Junius Matthews (the original voice of Rabbit) than Ken Sansom's does. Ditto for Craig Ferguson and Owl.

Only time will tell, I guess.

Frankly, I'm just glad Owl will actually be featured in the new film. Even though I kinda liked the other recent incarnations of Pooh, Owl completely disappeared from the Heffalump Movie and the Playhouse Disney cartoon. Ferguson could be an inspired bit of voice casting.

I'm so happy to hear Jim Cummings is back.

I hope the voices for everyone else are okay.
