Tokyo DisneySEA will get the classic Disneyland show in spring 2011...
Come April, the Japanese will have their own version of this show and it'll be on steroids. Not only will this show be in the round, it's going to be a pier where it can be seen from all sides. That means a larger viewing area is available and the capacity for seeing this show is 20,000 (by contrast, Disneyland's is approximately 9,000). Judging by how popular Disney is in Japan, I expect every spot to be filled and long lines waiting for the next show.
It's going to be interesting to see all the alterations that Steve Davison makes to the original...

If they are building a dragon that works, and Flotsom and Jetski that can appear regularly, then we should ask them to make a copy for DLR.
The same people that designed Murphy (the dragon), designed much of what you see in Tokyo.
To say that they don't have problems is a myth. What they have had before, was an owner that was willing to fund much larger budgets. As much of a critic as I am of Suits, the ones in charge now are much more willing to spend the cash to make great attractions and entertainment. That said, even though we visit the Disney world, it's bound by the realities of the real world.
The problem with the dragon is they should have not advertised it until later, because it took a great deal of testing.
Now if the characters on that poster are all in the show then this looks great.
A mash-up of Disneyland and Disney World versions, with more modern extras thrown in.
Can I see Stitch on there? Seems likely he's bound to be in the show somewhere :)
The only problem that I have with this is that TDS has had many original water spectaculars, and it's kind of disappointing that the latest one will just be an improved copy of the old US show.
At least it's not some kind of Toy Story Musical on Water, which was probably the other option.
Is it just me, or does the show look like it will borrow a lot from World of Color tech-wise? It certainly looks grander than either of the current Fantasmics.
Here's hoping there aren't any duds in the show like the endless bubble montage and lame Pocahontas scene in WDW's version. I do wonder what will take the place of the Peter Pan sequence though.

Fantasmic will be a huge improvement over past nighttime shows at the lagoon. It will no doubt be insanely popular, especially compared to the mediocre reception of the current and previous BraviSEAmo and DisneySea Symphony.

It's quite a beautiful show.
I think he is referring to the fact that the crowd never warmer up to it
But of course OLC is going to spare no expense and give their fortunate guests and true world-class experience. TWDC would rather give up their limbs or cut the value of their stock in half before going through the trouble and expense to provide a fully realized new attraction to their guests here, DHK or at DLP. You would think that they would have learned from the painful lessons of the backwards Eisner era. But it appears the jury is still out on that one.
I predict DisneySEA's Fantasmic will be better than either of the current variants, and will most likely have a 60 ftfull-bodied dragon that will actually swing it's head as it spits fire.
